Insect pressure has been a constant battle in the Delta this year. Early season thrips and spider mites are now being followed by high numbers of plant bugs according to Dr. Angus Catchot, Extension Entomologist for Mississippi State University.
Catchot says they have several options but rotating the classes of chemistry is key to keeping these products effective.
There is a major portion of the growing season left and adult plant bug numbers are high. Catchot is recommending producers and consultants pay close attention to square retention.
