National Cotton Council- Cotton Newsline: June 20, 2023
Today’s Cotton Newsline is 1 cut. It features Tillman White, program operations manager for the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol.
Suggested Introduction 1:
Tillman White, program operations manager for the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, reminds growers that enrollment for the 2023 crop year is open now through September 1, providing growers the opportunity to complete data entry prior to harvest. The updated timing also better aligns with peak cotton marketing dates and allows a member’s cotton to be verified and visible as Protocol Cotton bales right after ginning. Additionally, brand and retailer members of the Trust Protocol can now collaborate with marketers well in advance to plan the sourcing and use of more sustainably grown cotton. Growers enrolled in the Trust Protocol will also have an opportunity to apply for the Climate Smart Cotton Program. Producers can enroll and complete data entry at TrustUSCotton.org again by September 1.
