Screening of parental accessions along with their BC2F1 derivatives for thrips response at Upper Coastal Plain Research Station (UCPRS), Rocky Mount, NC in summer 2020. Upland cotton cultivars Acala Maxxa (a) and Fiber Max 966 (b) displaying susceptible phenotype and Pima cotton cultivar Coastland 320 (c) exhibiting resistant phenotype in the field. Some BC2F1 lines exhibited resistant phenotype (d) and some lines segregated for resistant and susceptible phenotypes in response to thrips infestation (e, f, g, & h).
